Prompt was to design posters for a Hitchcock retrospective.
Hitchcock is famous for making cameos in his films. Therefore his image and silhouette is quite recognizable. Taking the idea of splicing him up into many segments with iconic symbols and film stills of his most famous films, I used a spiral grid to organize the many elements and evoke the spiral symbol of Vertigo. The typeface was painfully dissected like a body to mimic the sectional silhouette and to allude to that jarring feeling that you get when watching a film by Hitchcock.
